UX Design

Creative Content

User experience (UX) design is a process in which creatives use data and behavioral science to create more meaningful experiences for the users consuming the offered content. The goal is to craft an optimal and amazing interaction between the content and the user – sometimes so great that an emotional attachment is made and action is spurred into the real world.

As a creative designer, I am greatly interested in both UX and user interface (UI) design. Why? Well, design is a communication tool, and any passionate storyteller will tell you that the audience is an integral component to a great story.

I believe that both UI and UX design provide a foundation to better identify, study, and understand the content audience. UX design in particular requires a few traits that I find come natural to me, such as:

  • attention to detail with strong project management capabilities
  • the ability to empathize with others
  • a desire to build collaborative relationships, sharing both wins and loses
  • a desire to continuously improve, learn, and communicate better

If you haven’t already guessed, I’m also a big fan of W. Edwards Deming’s Continuous Improvement theory, which combined with a thirst to learn more and new skills led me to complete the California Institute of the Arts UI / UX Design Specialization in 2021.
